Brad Reis…

The tattoo industry has been evolving and growing at an incredibly fast pace and Brad Reis has been paving his way for the past 10 years to make his mark.

Brad was born and raised in Orange County, CA as the youngest brother in a family of 5 boys. The exposure Brad had to the raw and real world of skateboarding from his oldest brother Brandon, introduced him to his love for art and graffiti. Surrounded by tattooed friends, and brothers, Brad ordered his first tattoo machine at 17 years old and quickly began practicing on himself and anyone willing. This included test canvases, like his girlfriend Casie, who he met after high school and has been inspeparable from since.

Brad worked his way into his first tattoo shop of WestCoastInc in Orange, CA where he started to really learn what it meant to be a tattoo artist. He continued to skate and keep up with that lifestyle through his close friend and professional skater, Austen Seaholm. Austen then introduced him to his first celebrity client and now friend, Ryan Sheckler, who he continues to tattoo today.

Brad moved from shop to shop, growing and evolving, learning to tattoo on all different types of clientele with all styles of art. This eventually brought him to San Clemente, CA where he worked at Renaissance Studios and The Vault by Rich Pineda, where he discovered his passion for doing geometric art. Living and working out of south Orange County really allowed him to find himself as an artist and lean in to this specialty.

After 6 years together Brad decided to propose to his girlfriend Casie, and they married 2 years later in Oahu, HI in 2016. Before he knew it, Brad and Casie would also be growing as a family and were expecting their first baby girl Mila in December 2017.

Although there was so much love and light that was brought to life with the birth of their daughter, the year of 2018 brought Brad and his family tremendous loss. Brad had lost one of his best friends and his oldest brother Brandon to drug addiction and suicide. This broke down all the walls. It was the hardest year to date and forced Brad to reflect on what he valued in his life and all the incredible lessons he had learned from his brother. After all, he was one of Brad’s biggest supporters and heavily influenced his life in art, skateboarding and tattooing.

This led Brad to meeting London Reese where he was welcomed with open arms into The Black Lantern tattoo studio, which was a refreshing change of pace for this new phase of life. Navigating through the wave of grief, he used this heartache and combined it with his fuel to provide for his baby girl as a new father.

This appeared to be a rebirth of Brad as an artist and as a man. He hustled harder, connected deeper and really put in the work to not only create valuable memories with his family but to also fill his books and grow his clientele to include people like Ken Roczen, Selena Gomez, and many others.
The gift of life played a huge role in healing and Brad & Casie welcomed their first son Maverick, born in 2019 and most recently a new baby boy, Koa, to their family this year of 2021.

With this new outlook on life and the overjoying love of his growing family, Brad is now dedicated more than ever to take his career to the next level.
After 10 years of experience and facing all the challenges, learning, changing, and reflecting that comes with that time, Brad is hyper-focused on producing only the best art, and making more meaningful connections with his clients. Brad is incredibly blessed to be able to do something he loves so much every day and to create art that lives on for a lifetime.
He hopes to create amazing experiences and will continue to work his hardest to leave his mark on skin as well as in the tattoo industry.
